Tzoffey's 1818, the Israeli-French auction house, announced it will be tendering a wide range of rough during the upcoming International Rough Diamond Week (IRDW) to be held March 9-13 at the Israel Diamond Exchange. The tender will include run-of mine diamonds, as well as goods in ranges of 3-6 gr., 4-8gr., 5-10 ct.+, single stones, and fancy color rough. The goods to be tendered are directly from the source.
Tzoffey's President AvnerSofiov said he was excited to stage such a varied and interesting Rough Diamond Tender. "We have secured a vast range of sizes, qualities and colors directly from the source. Some 140 rough buyers and dealers from around the world have already reserved their slots for viewing the goods. Due to a very positive response, Tzoffey's tender is actually overbooked, and therefore the Israel Diamond Exchange has allocated four extra viewing rooms to Tzoffey's on the last day of the week-long event to meet the overwhelming demand," Sofiov reported.
Meanwhile, IDE Deputy President Arnon Juwal, who heads the IRDW organizing committee, said: "AvnerSofiov of Tzoffey's is a renowned and most experienced auctioneer, with a talent for finding interesting diamonds for his clientele. We're very pleased with this valuable addition to the range of rough goods that will be tendered here in March."
"The harmonisation of industry standards is key component of CIBJO's mission," Dr Cavalieri stated. "This always has been an important factor, but it has become even more so as the world economy has globalised, and international trade has become the dominant component of our business. Quite simply, what is understood in one country or market needs to be understood perfectly in others."
Juwal added that more than 300 people have already registered for the event. "We've almost reached the point of saturation," he noted. Meanwhile, Fusion/I Hennig Tenders, which is handling the IDE tender project, reported that the flow of goods submitted for the IDE tender is continuing. Submission of rough goods to the IDE tender will continue until February 20.
