HRD Awards - A brief history
HRD_Awards

A biennial contemporary diamond jewellery contest, for the first time organised by HRD in 1984.

2003 : the contest becomes international

Aim -
Fostering creative talent is one of the tasks of the HRD Awards, for like fashion, jewellery design subsists upon uncommon ideas and their translation into new innovative pieces.

Contest credo -
The contest aims at extending the limits of the modern diamond jewel and to translate avant-garde ideas into trendsetting jewellery. Therefore exclusive creations are a must.

Promotion -
Through the organisation of the HRD Awards competition HRD Antwerp promotes diamonds and jewellery in general. Extensive international promotion is guaranteed by exhibitions and shows in Belgium and abroad.

Diamond Industry -
The contest is supported by Antwerp and International Diamond Companies, they provide for the diamonds used in the jewellery pieces.

Theme -
The 15th edition of the HRD Awards is a collection of contemporary diamond jewellery pieces that amazes the international diamond scène with provocative designs inspired by the theme “Trompe l’oeil” or Nothing is what it seems.

International jury -
An elite panel of international judges appoints the 5 finalists i.e the first prize award winner and its four runners up.

Award -
The 1st prize winner receives from HRD Antwerp a cash prize of 10.000 US dollar and the four finalists (runners up) get 2500 US dollars each.

The HRD Awards is the world’s leading diamond jewellery contest, organised every two years by HRD Antwerp. The 2013 theme “Trompe l’oeil” or nothing is what it seems. www.hrdawards.com
