Gemological Science International (GSI) has appointed Alethea Inns as its Chief Learning Officer. The new role is part of GSI’s commitment to ongoing education programs, courses and tools for the trade and consumers. As a seasoned professional, Ms. Inns' extensive background and evident passion for diamonds will be a valuable addition to GSI’s research and education departments.

Ms. Inns holds her MS in Nonprofit Management and Project Management from Northeastern University. She obtained her Hons. B.Sc. in Geology from McMaster University, her FGA from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, and her Graduate Gemologist diploma from GIA. She is also a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She has spent her career specializing in the theory and practice of diamond grading, fancy colored diamonds, and colored stone identification. She has experience expanding education, course offerings, and gemological knowledge to members of the industry, including specializing in learning strategy, e-learning development, instructional design, professional credentialing, and influencing change through building a culture of learning.
