Vicenzaoro, Italian Exhibition Group’s international gold, jewellery and watchmaking exhibition, closes today with a repeat performance of the record attendance of September 2023. The international positioning of IEG’s exhibition is confirmed with visitors arriving from a total of 132 different countries at this September edition. The number of visitors from Europe increased to 63.37% (compared to 52% in September last year), led by Spain, France and Germany, while those from Asia and the Middle East reached 21% (17% in 2023). Ten new entries compared to September 2023, including Honduras, Tajikistan and Tanzania.
«After a steady progression of attendances, we have now reached the new normal. The last three years of growth now shows the result of the strategy that IEG is pursuing: to focus increasingly on the quality of the public at the show. An objective that sees ITA – Italian Trade Agency at our side also in the profiling of hosted buyers. An important result, if we look at the complex signals coming from the jewellery industry with international demand slightly down and the latest data on Italian exports up +60%, we could not have wished for a better way to close the 70th anniversary of gold and jewellery shows in Vicenza» said Corrado Peraboni, CEO of Italian Exhibition Group.
«Thanks to a strategic tandem with the operations management, we overcame the challenge of a new layout with the Expo Centre being fully navigable despite the “work in progress”. As the operators themselves also acknowledged, the new layout eliminated any impact of the construction site for the new hall on the 1,200 exhibitors and visitors. Moreover, VO'Clock Privé confirmed its standing as a unique format in Italy for opening up the world of watches to the public. Media visibility of the show and the increasingly high quality of the events, both at the Expo and in town with VIOFF, confirm Vicenzaoro's status as a reference point for the international community», added Matteo Farsura , global exhibition manager of IEG's Jewellery & Fashion division.
IEG's Jewellery Agenda continues with JGT - Jewellery, Gems and Technology in Dubai from 12th to 14th November. While for Italy, the jewellery industry will be meeting in the production districts for the Valenza Gem Forum, on 10th October and the Italian Jewellery Summit in Arezzo in December.
In anticipation of the big return of Vicenzaoro January from 17th to 21st January, the first international gold and jewellery event in 2025.
